School uniform
It is compulsory for all children who are enrolled at Widgee State School to wear the correct school uniform. The P&C has uniforms for sale at the school. Contact the office for current prices.
The P&C of Widgee State School resolved that it supports a student dress code for Widgee State School because it believes that a student dress code at Widgee State School promotes objectives of Education (General Provisions) Bill 2006.
In particular, the P&C of Widgee State School supports the intention of a student dress code in providing a safe and supportive teaching and learning environment by:
ready identification of students and non-students at school
eliminating distraction of competition in dress and fashion at school
fostering a sense of belonging
developing mutual respect among students through minimising visible evidence of economic or social differences.

Shoes are an essential part of the school uniform. Appropriate footwear is to be worn in compliance with the Workplace Health and Safety requirements (sandals or closed shoes - no thongs).
As part of the school’s sunsafe policy, all children must wear a broad brimmed school hat. If these are not worn, the child will be required to spend playtime at recess in the covered pergola area. Hats are available from the School Office.
Swim shirts must be worn by Prep to Year 6 students during all water-based activities including swimming lessons. The only exception will be that swim shirts do not need to be worn during races at school swimming carnivals. The school will provide an SPF 30+ broad spectrum water based sunscreen for all state school students to use on uncovered areas of the skin, such as the face and the back of the hands for all outdoor activities.
If you are purchasing the shorts from other suppliers, they must comply with our uniform standards.
Jewellery
Children are not to wear jewellery other than watches, studs or small sleepers if ears are pierced. Necklaces, bracelets, large earrings pose serious safety risks during sport and play.
